Fashion research and development article

Working with a company that provides assistance with R&D tax credit relief, the aim behind this article was to inform those working in the fashion industry about how their research and development phases could lead to additional financial resources.

Having worked with this company for a while, I understood their funnel requirements. This afforded room to talk about the prospect of research and development in fashion before introducing the R&D tax credit relief services that the company provided.

As a B2B company, there were certain requirements in terms of the voice that I used throughout the article. Not only was the writing required to connect with the reader, the content had to sound professional.

While writing I made sure to include a case study from the company in order to increase credibility with the readers.

  • This company has a keyword strategy which at the time of writing included:
    R&D Tax Credits
    R&D Tax Relief
    Research and Development
    HMRC

  • To further the reach of this piece and align it with the fashion industry, I unearthed keywords such as:
    Garments
    Fashion Companies
    Sustainable materials
    Fashion Business
    Wearable technology

Combining my research with that of the SEO expert, this article immediately ranked at the top position on Bing and Yahoo. Within four hours, it went on to rank on Google under a variety of keywords.

Having worked with this company for quite some time, I have an insight into what their audience connects with. The premise of this article was to take a high ranking piece of social media content that I had created, and publish a full length article on their website.

The idea was to improve organic reach to the website through search engines optimisation, and to improve sales with direct links to products available on their website.

With that in mind, my first task was to analyse primary and secondary keywords as they would relate to the article as well as the products.

Following this, I would use the products included in the social media post. To expand on the post, I wrote clear descriptions of each product, along with information on how to use them. Not only would this promote each product, but it would provide the reader with additional information that they wouldn’t have gotten from the social media content alone.

Unfortunately this company decided to close the blog section of their website shortly before this piece was due to be published. This was due to the fact that as small business owners, the heads of the company didn’t feel they had enough time to maintain the blog itself.

Should the article have been published, it’s within my assumption that it would have ranked well given the natural integration of trending and niche keywords. Furthermore, it can be assumed that it would have been the source for various sales, as the content itself performs as an organic promotional tool.

Finance article

While I was working with a company in the financial industry, we decided to add guest posting to our marketing strategy in order to enhance the authority of our own website.

Our plan was to make the subject of R&D tax credits more accessible by providing actionable advice for business owners and financial managers.

To do this, I teamed up with the SEO specialist. While they would source relevant websites, I worked on writing content that suited the platform while introducing new readers to the subject.

Part of this collaboration included researching what people were searching for, which is how we came up with the idea of “how to optimise business grants for R&D tax credits”.

The host website required an article between 600 - 800 words, so I got to work researching the best way to educate new readers, while maintaining our signature professional tone.

After my research period, I recognised the best audience for this piece would be small businesses and startups, so I wrote the article as though I was speaking directly to people that head up these kinds of companies.

While writing this piece, I also made sure to include keywords that were a vital part of our strategy. In order to further enhance the reach of this content, I included a range of keywords that were highlighted throughout my own research.

  • This company has a keyword strategy which at the time of writing included:
    R&D Tax Credits
    R&D Tax Relief
    Research and Development
    HMRC

  • To further the reach of this piece, I unearthed keywords such as:
    Startups
    Business Grants
    Innovation
    Co-funding
    Small Business Grants

Combining my research with that of the SEO expert, this article ranks on the first page of Google under a variety of keywords and phrases. The backlinks that came from this article also helped us to build domain authority, and improve web traffic by an average of 12 clicks per day.
